New Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency information kit for nursing homes
The Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency Ltd has sent a special information package to all aged care facilities about its unannounced visits.
This information package includes some practical advice and tips, helpful websites, a detailed explanation about the Agency’s approach to the use of the assessment modules, and pointers to Agency education resources that can be used to help maintain and improve compliance with the accreditation standards.
Also included in the package is a complimentary copy of the latest edition of the ‘Results and processes guide’. This explains what assessors look for when conducting assessments, to enable facilities to better prepare themselves for Agency calls.
Both the ‘Results and processes guide’ and the ‘Audit handbook’ have been updated and are be available on the Agency’s website. The assessment modules have also been updated to a more user-friendly layout (the content is unchanged) and are also on the Agency’s website.
