Multilingual brochures on palliative care services in Melbourne
A new series of multilingual brochures will help Melbourne residents from different cultures understand how palliative care services can help people with a terminal illness.
The brochures have been prepared by Banksia Palliative Care Service and explain details of the services available in Arabic, Assyrian, Bosnian, Cantonese, Croatian, Greek, Italian, Macedonian, Mandarin, Somali, Turkish, Polish and Vietnamese.
In the 2006-07 financial year, the service provided community-based palliative services to 485 patients and their families in the local government areas of Whittlesea, Nillumbik and Banyule in northern metropolitan Melbourne.
