Moving on from ‘Movember’
If your salt and peppered moustache doesn’t stand out as much as you’d like, perhaps take some advice from 69 year old Queensland retiree, Tony Logan. “Someone suggested I put some vegemite on it to define it and give it colour because it’s grey,” Mr Logan laughs.

The Buderim retiree and Immanuel Gardens retirement village resident (pictured third from the left with other ‘Movember’ residents, Stan Burton, Neville Jackson, Victor Lillienthal, Jim Robertson and, in front, Cecil Sullivan), supported the ‘Movember’ campaign last month to help raise awareness about men’s health and prostate cancer.
Movember, held in November each year, is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Australia, and even around the globe.
Fellow Immanuel Gardens residents, 96 year old Mr Burton and 83 year old Mr Jackson, also joined the campaign to transform their freshly shaven faces, which now feature moustaches ranging from soft and whisker-like, to bushy and stylishly groomed.
Ninety two year old resident, Mr Robertson, also ‘grew a mo’ in support of men’s health and admits he had never grown a moustache until last month.
