More transition places in NSW
The Australian Government has announced another 40 transition care places for NSW, bringing the number of fully-funded places in the state to 54. This will help up to 405 older people a year in NSW.
From 1 September, the NSW transition care places are located in: Coffs Harbour; the Lower Hunter region; Greater Newcastle;Inner-city Sydney; and Western Sydney.
Once operational, the 69 NSW places for 2008-2009 will help up to up to 518 people a year.
Under its $293.2 million transition care plan, the Federal Government will create 228 fully funded places nationally in 2008-09.
