More options for dementia care in Launceston
Older people with dementia in Launceston will have more options for specialised care following the opening of a new dementia extension at Glenara Lakes Aged Care Home.
The Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot, attended the launch with local Federal MP Jodie Campbell.
Mrs Elliot said the new dementia wing would provide a safe environment and quality care for up to 15 older Tasmanians.
“Congratulations to the providers, Southern Cross Care, on the $3.1 million state-of-the-art extension, for which the Government has provided $500,000,” Mrs Elliot said.
