More dentures and spectacles for seniors in Victorian Budget
The Victorian State Budget, handed down on 1 May, aims to cut public
optical and dental waiting lists, with funding for 6,000 sets of
dentures costing $5.4 milion and 3,000 pairs of spectacles and a mobile
eye service costing $2.5 million to be provided for disadvantaged
seniors.
There is also substantial funding for residential aged care places as
the Victorian Government plays a substantial role in the provision of
aged care places, especially in the bush.
Aged care capital funding has been provided for Caulfield General
Medical Centre, Calvary Health Care Bethlehem, and Nathalia and
Leongatha Hospitals.
It has also provided $4.5 million for the Land Bank project which aims
to boost inner-city aged care places.
