More aged care places for Caboolture

Frail older members of communities in the Caboolture area of Queensland will benefit from an extra 140 residential aged care places being made available in the region.

Speaking at a visit to the Arcare on Endeavour aged care facility in North Lakes the Federal Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot, said the 140 places comprised 38 high care and 102 low care places.

“These places are part of the recent Aged Care Approvals Round, started under the former Government, which saw 1,622 new residential aged care beds worth $53.4 million a year allocated across Queensland,” Mrs Elliot said.  

“The aged care places will be backed up by capital grants of $4 million to help providers build or improve residential aged care services. 

“In addition the Caboolture region has been allocated 35 Community Aged Care Places (CACP) and 10 Extended Aged Care at Home (EACH) packages. The CACP and EACH programs allow people to remain in their homes for longer.”
