Montefiore’s Club Monte gets a make-over

Clients, guests, volunteers and staff were delighted to enjoy brunch and entertainment to celebrate the refurbishment of Montefiore’s Club Monte Day Therapy Centre at Hunters Hill yesterday.

The refurbishment included modern furnishings, new carpet and easy moving tables to enable the room to adapt to a variety of activities that the clients may be doing.

Club Monte offers entertainment from interesting speakers, musical performances, movies, activities such as crafts, quizzes, games, regular outings to places of interest, a well-supplied library, the latest technology and digital services; and a host of wellbeing therapies such as hydrotherapy, remedial massage and tai chi just to name a few.

General Manager of Community Services, Karen Jordan, thanked the Board and senior management

for making funds available to do the refurbishment. “Thank you for making this place a great space for people to come along and spend time to enjoy one another’s company and do the exercises and many diversional activities available,” said Karen. “Club Monte is a special and valuable space just like our clients who come here,” added Karen.

Montefiore CEO, Robert Orie, said, “Providing day centres such as this one is an important part of what our organisation does.  Club Monte is a lovely space, and whilst having a nice space is wonderful it’s really about what happens inside the space such as the activities that is important.”

Club Monte is a wellbeing day centre for senior citizens in the wider community. The aim is to enhance the capability of older people to stay independent in their own homes and to facilitate social connection within the community in a sophisticated and meaningful way.
