Talking Aged Care reported on breaking news and big changes in the aged care sector for our readers in 2021, while providing older Australians with up to date information for accessing aged care services.

Even as Australia slowly adjusted to the changes from a second year of COVID-19, the aged care system experienced a transformative year, which will impact the sector long into the future.

Talking Aged Care reported on the landmark Final Report from the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, as well as the Federal Government’s response to the Final Report recommendations in the May 2021 Budget.

2021 was definitely a unique year with older Australians showcasing their resilience and passion for a strong nation and aged care system. We can now look ahead to a fresh start in 2022 as Australia opens itself to the world again.

Talking Aged Care and DPS look forward to continuing to inform and report on what 2022 has to offer to older Australians and the aged care sector.
