Melbourne University survey into community wellbeing
The University of Melbourne is currently completing a telephone survey of community well-being across Victoria. The survey is being
conducted by Community Indicators Victoria which is hosted by The
McCaughey Centre: VicHealth Centre for the Promotion of Mental Health and Community Wellbeing, in the School of Population Health at the University of Melbourne.
This important survey of 24,000 households is looking at health and
wellbeing, transport, safety, community issues and work-life balance.
The survey also gathers important demographic information such as age, gender and household type to gain a better understanding of the needs of different community members.
The survey seeks to establish what is working well in our communities and what aspects could be improved. Community Indicators Victoria will use the results of the survey to help inform community groups, local councils, policy makers and health professionals about the health and wellbeing of Victorian communities.
The results will be made freely available on an updated CIV website in June 2007 at www.communityindicators.net.au
