Anthony Warlow

Recent figures from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) show the number of Australians diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is projected to increase by more than 30% between 2002 and 2011.

To mark World Lymphoma Awareness Day a new Australian documentary entitled, ‘Journey Through Lymphoma: Finding New Horizons,’ has been produced by the Australian members of the World Lymphoma Coalition – The Leukaemia Foundation and Lymphoma Support and Research Association.

Australian opera legend and lymphoma survivor, Anthony Warlow introduces the half hour documentary. It allows a rare insight into the lives of three Australians who have been diagnosed with lymphoma, their emotional journey, experiences with the blood cancer and their hope to now lead relatively normal lives.

The documentary also highlights the importance of their support structures of family, friends, medical staff and patient support groups, who helped them through some of their darkest moments.

Further information about the documentary will be available on both The Leukaemia Foundation’s website at www.leukaemia.org.au and The Lymphoma Support and Research Association website at www.lymphoma.org.au.

In addition, a DVD has been produced with a number of extra features including extended interviews.
