Long ring finger points to arthritis danger
A long ring finger could indicate a greater risk of osteoarthritis in the knee or hip according to British researchers who checked 2,0
orthopaedic and rheumatology patients and 1,123 people with no arthritis.
All patients had radiographs of their knees, pelvis, and both hands and then the length of their fingers compared. The study, published in Arthritis and Rheumatism, showed that those who had an index finger shorter than the ring finger were found to have an increased risk of osteoarthritis in the knee or hip.
The risk of osteoarthritis in the knee was almost double for those with ring fingers that were longer than their index fingers.
