Leighton Contractors move to improve health care capacities

Leighton Contractors has significantly expanded its capabilities in the health care sector through the acquisition of specialist facilities management company, Menette P/L, a Melbourne based company that provides facilities management, design, and project management services to health sector clients nationally.

Peter McMorrow, managing director of Leighton Contractors, said that over the next 10 years there would be significant investment in social infrastructure, particularly in health care facilities.

“This acquisition is a key part of our strategy to establish ourselves as the leading building contractor and the preferred partner to clients in the health care, education and related sectors.

“Clients are increasingly looking for companies that can offer fully integrated design, construction, financing and facilities management solutions and, importantly, companies that are committed to a long-term partnership that creates value over the life of a facility.”

Leighton Contractors is one of Australia’s leading construction, mining, services and telecommunications groups with over $9 billion work in hand, employing more than 8,000 people across Australia and New Zealand.
