Leading Age Services Australia (LASA), the national peak organisation for providers of care, services and accommodation for older Australians, is now seeking a replacement chief executive after former head, Gerard Mansour, stepped down from his role last week due to a private family medical issue.
Mr Mansour (pictured), who was first appointed to the role in July, will remain as chief executive until a replacement is found.
LASA chair, General Peter Cosgrove, acknowledged Mr Mansour’s efforts as the organisation’s inaugural chief executive in Canberra.
“LASA has an unwavering commitment to serving the needs of our industry and our members. This commitment will continue as we get on with the important job of representing the interests of aged care providers while we search for a new chief executive.
“Family is everyone’s priority and we offer Mr Mansour and his family our full support,” General Cosgrove said.
Mr Mansour said: “I will always be passionate about the aged services industry and the important role LASA plays in advocating for our members and our clients.
He will continue to work with the Board and LASA’s state offices during this transition period.
“LASA has come a long way in a short time and I am committed to working with our Board to recruit and induct a new chief executive who can continue to build on the outstanding work of LASA,” Mr Mansour said.
