Labor announces more GP super clinics in Brisbane
The Shadow Minister for Health, Nicola Roxon, said the Rudd Labor Government would invest $7.5 million in a GP super clinic in Brisbane’s Southside to provide better health services to the Southside community.
Labor’s GP super clinic will be co-located with the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital to take pressure off the hospital’s emergency department.
“A Rudd Labor Government will invest up to $5 million to establish a GP super clinic co-located with the Redcliffe Hospital to help take pressure off the Redcliffe Hospital.”
The Queensland Government has recently invested $27 million in improving facilities at the Redcliffe Hospital.
This includes funding for the construction of a new emergency department to double the number of emergency treatment beds and construction of a new specialist outpatient department.
