It’s never too late to improve your lifestyle
Even if you are 70, you can still adapt your lifestyle to improve your chances of living to at least 90.
A new study, published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, looked at 70 year old men and found that if they lived a healthy lifestyle, 54% would live to over 90.
The healthy behaviours that made a positive impact on longevity in a person’s 70s were avoiding smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, blood pressure control and regular exercise.
Regular exercise was associated with significantly better late-life physical function, whereas smoking and being overweight were linked to considerably worse physical function.
