Investigation into electronic media for the blind and vision impaired
A government enquiry into access to electronic media for the hearing impaired has been expanded to include access to electronic media for the blind and vision impaired.
It will cover a broad range of issues including the availability of audio description technologies, as well as the work undertaken in relation to captioning by free to air, subscription and national broadcasters, internet broadcasters, film producers and cinema operators.
The investigation, under the auspices of the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, will be completed by 30 April 2008.
