Information for ACT residents

ACT Minister for Ageing, John Hargreaves, announced funding of $85,557 for 12 projects under the 2008-09 ACT Seniors Grants Program.

 


Successful applicants for 2008-09 include the Northside Community Service Inc’s project to identify barriers to social inclusion among people over 60 in

Canberra
‘s inner north,
and theatre director and actor, Camilla Blunden’s initiative that will provide seniors with an opportunity to share their life’s stories in theatrical productions.

 


There are also programs for Gungahlin and Tuggeranong that will encourage isolated older men to use their practical skills and expertise in practical ways in the community, including mentoring younger men.
