The annual event, which will this year be held in Adelaide, South Australia, at the Adelaide Convention Centre from 21-22 November, is set to feature a significant range of presentations, keynote speakers, international guests and demonstrations of innovation and technologies to support the aged and disability care industries into the future.

Chair of the ITAC Organising Committee, Rod Young, says though still a while away, the event, as always is one not to be missed.

“Anybody working in the disabilities or aged care space should be interested in attending the 2018 ITAC Conference,” Mr Young explains.

“It will feature speakers on such subjects as big data, the impact of the 5G network, lessons from a technology startup and well as ‘Blockchain explained’.”

Bringing together local and international experts across the fields of community care, medication management, assistive technologies and offsite information systems delivery, organisers say these critical aged care topics will be discussed from a practical perspective, highlighting the information needed to know now to better manage and design aged care service delivery, which they say will deliver on the evolving environment of enhanced consumer choice.

“More broadly, ITAC aims to assist providers to learn from each other about how technology can be more effectively used to improve the customer experience as well as supporting staff efficiency and effectiveness,” Mr Young explains.

“We hope you can join us in Adelaide this November for what we believe will be a very educative and interesting conference.”

As well as featuring an impressive range of national and international speakers covering a wide range of relevant topics, the conference will also feature an awards night which is set to be held at the Awards Gala Dinner on Wednesday 21 November.

The awards are acknowledged across six categories including:

  • Best solution that provides ongoing consumer independence
  • Best consumer friendly product of system deployment
  • Best aged care software development and/or deployment
  • Best workforce efficiency or quality improvement solution
  • Best application of business intelligence to leverage value from big data
  • Other

Submissions for the awards close on 31 July 2018, with finalists notified on 31 August 2018.
