Improve cancer service links

Cancer Australia has developed a national program to improve links between cancer services across Australia to ensure more people with cancer access the most appropriate treatment, care and support.

The program will improve access to quality cancer services throughout Australia, particularly for people living in rural and regional areas and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, who currently have poorer cancer outcomes.

It involves consumers, health professionals, cancer services and governments in all of the states and the Northern Territory. More than 40 consumers and representatives who have been involved in developing the state and territory networks will be attending a workshop at which the program will be launched today.
