How to donate toolkit launched

Posted
by DPS

A resource called Giving to Health and Medical Research: Research Australia Philanthropy Toolkit, has been launched by the Parliamentary Secretary for Health, Mark Butler.

It advises on how to adopt a new strategic approach for encouraging Australians to give more generously to health and medical research.

With a range of supporting services, the philanthropy toolkit will make it easier for philanthropic organisations, companies and individuals to support health and medical research and see more clearly how their donations benefit their fellow Australians.

Medical research is a complex area and the philanthropy toolkit will help unite Research Australia’s extensive expertise and networks with philanthropists to ensure funding is directed at the appropriate research body and make the process of giving simpler.

Philanthropy is an important source of support for health and medical research – an area with the potential to transform lives as well as bring commercial rewards for Australia through medical breakthroughs.

Tax statistics show that 40% of Australians in the top 5% wage bracket give little or nothing to charity.
