Housing, economic security links
Curtin University researchers are investigating links between housing and economic security and now want to hear from seniors about the use of housing equity when planning for the future. Researchers will study people aged 45 years and over who own a home or have a mortgage.
Curtin University researchers are investigating links between housing and economic security and now want to hear from seniors about the use of housing equity when planning for the future.
Researchers will study people aged 45 years and over who own a home or have a mortgage and are willing to take part in an interview to discuss home ownership and economic security.
The main aim of the project – funded by the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute – is to help reduce risks associated with withdrawing housing equity.
The interviewed participants will be taped and transcribed. The transcriptions will be de-identified, ensuring the interviewed participants remain anonymous. The transcriptions will then be analysed by the researchers to identify key issues discussed by participants.
Seniors lobby group, National Seniors is providing support for this project and the results will be presented in academic conferences, publications and reports to policy makers.
No participants will be identified in any of these documents or forums.
