Housing alternatives in aged care

Posted
by DPS

A forum on housing alternatives in aged care, organised by the Department of Human Services, Common Equity Housing Ltd, Community Housing Federation of Victoria, Aged & Community Services Australia and the Victoria Local Governance Association will be held on Wednesday, 12 May from 1.30pm – 4.30pm  in the Supper Room at Melbourne Town Hall.

This will provide an opportunity to explore housing options to fill the gap for people seeking affordable housing in their own community.

Canadian leaders and veterans in co-operative housing will share their knowledge and experience on accessible living for people caught between the existing options.

Housing co-ops can offer many of the benefits of home ownership without the expense and the mounting debt.

Speakers will include:

  • Stuart Thomas, founding owner of Terra Housing Consultants, Vancouver
  • Merrilee Robson, founder of Trafalgar Housing Co-operative, Vancouver
  • Local co-op leaders
  • Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA)
  • Victorian Housing Minister, Richard Wynne

Details are available from Angela Sharam on (03) 9654 6077.
