Have you renewed your nurse registration?

A nurse registration renewal campaign will launch later this month, with nearly 354,400 nurses and midwives across Australia due to renew their general or non-practising registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (the National Board) by 31 May 2014.

The National Board urges all nurses and midwives to ensure the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) has their current email contact details to guarantee they don’t miss reminders to renew their registration.

The National Board will also use the email addresses to send regular newsletters and important communication.

To update your contact details:

Use AHPRA’s secure online services for health practitioners at www.ahpra.gov.au:

  • Go to the bottom of the home page
  • Click on Update contact details under Services for Practitioners
  • Use your user ID and secure password
  • Follow the prompts

If you don’t have your user ID, complete an online enquiry form (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency – Make an Enquiry) and select ‘Online Access’ as the category type.

If you’ve forgotten your password it can be updated using the password reset function. You must have previously had an email address registered with AHPRA to be able to use this function.

Keep a look out for the AHPRA reminders to renew in mid-March as confirmation that online renewal is open.

For more information: lodge an online enquiry form on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia website, or for registration enquiries call 1300 419 495 (within Australia) or +61 3 8708 9001 (overseas callers).
