Govt tender Vic bushfire assistance
On 25 February 2009, the Australian Government announced a $1.5 million package of support for aged care providers and clients affected by the Victorian bushfires.
The Department of Health and Ageing has now called for tenders to provide this support.
This package includes $550,000 to help frail older people replace independent living aids lost in the fires, which they require to enable them to continue living at home or in the community (such as mechanised hoists, wheel chairs, adjustable seats or other personal items).
Organisations or individuals interested in tendering must address the requirements of the invitation document which is available by registering on the form found at http://www.health.gov.au
Tenders must be submitted by 2pm on 30 October 2009.
