Govt grant to Australian Association of Gerontology
The Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot, has announced $450,000 over three years in funding to the Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG), a not-for-profit professional association for more than 800 aged care experts.
“The funding will continue to provide the AAG with additional resources over the next three years,” she said.
The 45 year old AAG promotes and supports research, information and education, partnerships and evidence based policy development.
“The AAG has the expertise to provide advice and work closely with the Australian Government to help address the challenges associated with our nation’s ageing population,” she said.
This funding will contribute to the salary of an executive officer to allow the organisation to continue to operate.
