Free financial seminars for Queensland women

Posted
by DPS

Women are being encouraged to sign up for the Economy Wise Budget Smart seminars being held across Queensland.

The free seminars aim to help women survive the market crunch and help them take greater control of their finances.

Facilitated by the state government, the 20 hour seminar presents financial advice in simple terms designed specifically for women.

The course will teach women the skills needed to get by in a financial emergency and also help with: managing a household budget; savings; superannuation; smart purchasing; planning for retirement and investing.

Research indicates women earn 16% less than men, and retire from the paid workforce with half the superannuation men have.

Regions so far allocated a seminar are: Beenleigh, Charleville, Cherbourg, Mackay, Murgon and Redcliffe, with seven more locations still to be decided.

To sign up for a seminar and possibly bring one to your region phone 1800 177 577.
