Free activities for people with dementia and their families

Alzheimer’s Australia (Victoria) is undertaking a range of new services and activities for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, as well as their families and friends, in Melbourne’s South East and North West suburbs through to June.

The sessions, held by staff from the organisation’s Dementia and Memory Community Centre, include ‘dance therapy’, ‘art therapy’, ‘exercise and relaxation’, ‘nutrition and healthy eating tips’, ‘creating your life book’ and ‘sharing life experiences in song’.

They are designed  to help people live positively with dementia.

Locations include: Altona, Hawthorn, Lalor, Melton, Narre Warren, Northcote, Rosanna, Rosebud, Sunshine and Thomastown.

The free  sessions usually last around two and a half hours, and are run by experienced facilitators.

Bookings are essential.
