Follow the election online

Several election-focused websites are online, to allow the public to debate, research and predict the upcoming election.

The ABC has launched a special election website – www.abc.net.au/elections. You can view stories on each party leader, and there is an election calculator and commentary from ABC election analyst, Antony Green.

The MySpace website offers ‘Meet the People’, a two-way communication Between Federal politicians and computer-savvy voters. It is linked to the Channel Ten program, Meet the Press, and users will be able to ask questions around a series of predetermined topics.

Another popular website, YouTube, will host a user-generated election debate next month. It will be focused on the bellwether seat of Eden-Monaro in NSW. To post a question or find out more, visit www.youtube.com.
