First ever HACC Annual Report

Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot, has released the first annual Home and Community Care (HACC) Program report that showed more than 830,000 people across Australia received HACC services and eight million hours of domestic assistance were provided during 2007-08.
The 2007-08 Home and Community Care Program Annual Report is the first annual report in the program’s 24 year history.
The report presents performance information and statistics on the HACC Program from 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2008.
Key HACC facts reported included:
- 835,269 people accessed HACC Program services;
- Services were provided by 3,300 different organisations;
- $1.6 billion was provided from Australian Government and state and territory government contributions; and
- Eight million hours of domestic assistance was provided through the program, supporting more than one-third of all clients.
