Solicitors and financial planners could do more to prompt their clients to leave a bequest and consider charitable options, is the message that charity consortium Include a Charity is promoting during Financial Planning Week this year from 25 May to 1 June.
It says that recent research shows that when a solicitor does raise the issue of bequests and charitable giving, the client is eight times more likely to include a charity in their will.
They hope this message will spread through the legal and financial planning industries.
