Key points:

  • Belvedere Aged Care is a family-owned and operated boutique facility located in Melbourne’s south east
  • The Noble Park facility is a 60-bed home committed to excellence, with a warm and welcoming environment for couples or individuals seeking care
  • Residents and carers alike have turned the month into a celebration of diversity — in age, culture and experience

SPONSORED — Residents of Belvedere Aged Care have celebrated Easter and intergenerational connections throughout the month of April, joined by Dandenong Mayor Councillor Jim Memeti.

Mayor Cr Memeti has four generations of family in the area and on April 11, 2025, he took the opportunity to join grandchildren of all ages, along with parents and grandparents, for an afternoon of live entertainment, delicious food and Easter-themed fun.

He took part in the festivities, helped judge the colouring competition and enjoyed the signature Easter buffet prepared by Belvedere’s long-standing chef of over 15 years, Raj Chandran.

Mayor Cr Memeti acknowledged Belvedere’s strong commitment to fostering intergenerational connections.

“This unique event brings everyone together to improve intergenerational connections, enhance social engagement and boost the well-being of everyone involved,” he said.

For Belvedere Aged Care — a boutique, family-owned residential facility — events like this are a regular feature of the lifestyle and activities calendar.

Karin Blavo, Belvedere’s lifestyle manager, said the event was a part of the in-house and external events residents can participate in.

“We’re committed to creating opportunities where families and friends can feel welcome and included,” she said.

“When loved ones are involved, the emotional, physical and mental well-being of our residents is uplifted well beyond the day itself.”

Annie, a personal care assistant, shared the joy of helping residents prepare for the celebration, which took place in the surrounding area of Belvedere’s gardens and newly renovated dining hall.

“When residents welcome their families, I see the pride they feel in themselves and in their home here at Belvedere,” she said.

Tracey Davis, whose mother resides at Belvedere, reflected on the day as well and spoke highly of the familial celebration. She attended with her daughter and three grandchildren, along with her niece and her three children.

“It was a beautiful day,” she explained.

“The music was lovely, the buffet was amazing and the egg hunt was a big hit.

“Thank you for creating these lovely opportunities for residents to enjoy with their loved ones.”
