Extra funding for Home and Community Care in WA
Thousands of older people and people with a disability in Western Australia are set to benefit from a $12 million boost in funding for Home and Community Care services in the state.
The extra funding for 2006-07 was announced by the Australian Government Minister for Ageing, Senator Santo Santoro, and the West Australian Minister for Health, Jim McGinty.
Western Australia’s total Home and Community Care program funding for 2006-07 will rise by 8.5% to $153 million as a result.
The Australian Government has contributed $92.9 million and the State Government $60.1 million.
