Extended closing date to 5 September for Aged Care Nursing Scholarship Scheme

The Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA), has announced an extension of the closing date for the Aged Care Nursing Scholarship Scheme: Undergraduate, until 5 September 2008.  The scheme is an Australian Government initiative that is administered by RCNA.

Scholarships are available for undergraduate applicants with a focus on aged care nursing.

“The extension of this closing date highlights the importance of attracting nursing students into this particular area of nursing,” said Elizabeth Foley FRCNA, RCNA’s acting executive director.

“We really do want each and every eligible candidate out there to consider applying for this funding.

Undergraduate scholarships are open to applicants with a demonstrated commitment to aged care, who wish to study undergraduate nursing at an Australian university. These scholarships are valued at up to $5,000 per semester up to a maximum of $30,000 per applicant.

“The funding is there to be used. It’s there to help alleviate some of the financial pressure that many students face,” said Ms Foley.

Applications for the undergraduate scheme will now close at 5pm on Friday, 5 September 2008.

For further application information, please contact RCNA by email or call them on 1800 116 696.
