Ethnic specific aged care has long waiting lists
Waiting lists at culturally specific inner west Sydney aged care day facilities are so long that some applicants are dying before they can be placed, an agency has claimed.
The Italian Association of Assistance (CoAsIt) said it had reported cases of clients passing away before they could be placed in a program.
The group’s community manager, Thomas Camporeale, said there was a definite need for more funding in the two growth areas of culturally and dementia-specific aged day care facilities in the inner west in Sydney.
