Estia Health joins forces with retirement company

Paul Gregersen, Estia Health chief executive, says he is pleased with the strategic partnership with Living Choice, which has an enviable track record in developing first class retirement communities.

“We are excited about working with the Living Choice team. Queensland is an increasingly important market for Estia’s growth plans and securing two additional residential aged care facilities on the Sunshine Coast, with its ageing population and strong socio-economic demographic, represents a very attractive proposition for the Group,” Mr Gregerson says.

“A core part of our strategy is to develop networks of facilities. When built, the two new homes will increase concentration in our network that stretches from Albany Creek in north Brisbane, through to Mount Coolum and Nambour.”

Living Choice general manager, Tim Bentley, says the two new aged care facilities would expand the service offering of two highly sought after Living Choice locations.

“We are pleased to announce that these new facilities will be located at Living Choice’s Sunshine Cove site at Maroochydore and at Living Choice Twin Waters, where the final release of villas is nearing completion,” Mr Bentley says.

Construction of the aged care facility at Twin Waters is scheduled to start within six months and at Sunshine Cove, it is hoped construction will start within the next 12 months.

“Living Choice has established a strong reputation for developing high quality retirement accommodation and Estia is the ideal partner to help us broaden the range of services that we offer older Australians, through co-location of aged care homes in our communities,” Mr Bentley says.

“The building of these facilities will provide our residents with peace of mind regarding the level of care available at our facilities and will certainly stimulate demand for homes within the villages. Residents at our Kawana Island village will also have priority access. We have already received many enquiries about our third village in Sunshine Cove and I have no doubt this news will generate significant additional interest.”

Jenifer Simpson, OAM, chair of the Twin Waters Retirement Village Residents’ Committee, says residents welcomed the news that Estia Health will be constructing an aged care facility in their village.

“It is reassuring to know that when we need assistance we will be close to our partners and friends and that the care provided will be of the highest standard,” Ms Simpson says.

“We are promised a home like environment where all our needs, both physical and mental, are catered for. It will be unique to have this facility in such a tranquil and pleasant location,” he adds.
