Elderly have hardest time finding jobs

The Australian Bureau of Statistics employment figures released in early September show that in the year up to February 2009, people aged 55-plus on average spent the most time looking for work while not working (21 out of 52 weeks).
In comparison, the average time spent looking for work while not working across all age groups was just 16 weeks for both men and women.
