‘Easy’ access to quality aged care

The Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency, an internationally recognised accreditation body focused on promoting high quality aged care, has launched one of its resources as a free app for iPhone and android.

Often referred to by assessors and aged care managers as the ‘bible’ for the Accreditation Standards, the Results and Processes guide outlines each of the expected outcomes of the Accreditation Standards and their focus, results, processes and any links to related expected outcomes.

The Results and Processes app gives quick, mobile access to the guide used by assessors to assess aged care homes’ performance against the Accreditation Standards.

Accreditation Agency chief executive, Mark Brandon, said the app was developed to make it easier to access the information required to comply with the Accreditation Standards.

“The keyword search function means that users will be able to quickly find what they need while they are onthego,” Mr Brandon said.

Features include quick key word searches and easy navigation of the Accreditation Standards.

The Results and processes guide app contains:

• the introduction to the Results and Processes guide;

• the full wording of for each of the Accreditation Standards;

• all 44 expected outcomes including their descriptions, their focus, results, processes and any links to related expected outcomes; and

• phone and email contacts for the agency’s offices.

The Results and Processes guide is available for download from iTunes and Google play, or by visiting the app store on any iPhone or android phone.

The Results and Processes guide is also available as a download from the Accreditation Agency’s website and as a printed document.
