Alzheimer’s Australia has created a new website titled Donate a Memory, which provides people with the opportunity to share and re-live their favourite memories to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Research Foundation.

Alzheimer’s Australia president, Ita Buttrose, (pictured with her grandchildren) kicked off the new website by donating her own memory.
“I’m deeply saddened by the fact that dementia has stolen – and will steal – special memories which so many Australians have of much loved family members.
“I invite everyone to help us work towards a World Without Dementia by setting up their own fundraising page with their favourite memories,” she said.
Ms Buttrose was also announced as last night’s winner of Research Australia’s Bupa Advocacy award for her role as national president of Alzheimer’s Australia and her outstanding leadership of the Fight Dementia Campaign, which is raising awareness about the need for an investment in dementia research.
