Posted
by DPS

People who want to find out more about dementia are invited to attend a free dementia information seminar in Sydney this month.

It will help people to understand the physiological processes that affect the brain function and its role in communication, as well as find out effective techniques and strategies to deal with problem solving.

The seminar is presented by nurses, speech pathologists and occupational therapists and is available to any home carer, relative, volunteer or paid worker who cares for a person with dementia.

The event is being organised by the Dementia Care Commitment Group.

The seminars will be held on Monday 20 October from 10.30am to 1pm and on Monday 27 October from 7pm to 9pm at Little Sisters of the Poor Auditorium, 70 Market St/Cnr Avoca St, Randwick.

No bookings are required but registration is required 15 minutes before the start of the seminar.

If respite is needed to attend this seminar phone the Carer Respite Centre on (02) 9599 0233.
