Dementia patients know what’s wrong
Research conducted at Griffith University has shown that despite deficits in memory, language and other functions, people with dementia can also contribute meaningful and reliable information about their quality of life and should be given the opportunity to do so.
A pilot study across three residential care settings has found a brief, dementia-specific quality of life survey can be completed by people with relatively poor cognitive function.
The research was published in Dementia: The International Journal of Social Research and Practice, Vol 6 (2) 175-191.
