Dementia book wins literary prize

Author Marie Williams was awarded the Finch Memoir Prize 2013 for her book Green Vanilla Tea which is central to dementia.
Ms Williams writes about her husband living with a chronic disease, and the love and struggle she and the family felt during its progression.
Ita Buttrose, Alzheimer’s Australia National President and Australian of The Year, was one of four judges on the panel at the Sydney Writers Festival last week.
“This book sensitively brings to life the heartache, humour and love that’s involved in living with dementia,” Ms Buttrose said.
