Crackdown on bogus doctors in SA

Bogus health practitioners who exploit ailing and vulnerable South Australians will be banned from practising, and could be jailed, under new moves by the South Australian government.
Health Minister, John Hill, announced that the government would make legislative changes to crackdown on bogus doctors and practitioners who continue to treat patients after they have been barred.
The government will amend the Health and Community Services Complaints Act 2004, giving existing authorities greater powers to stop quacks who pose a risk to public health from practising, including penalties such as fines and/or imprisonment, imposed by a court.
