Cooking up a storm for Alzheimer’s
Alzheimer’s Australia Victoria is hosting a charity dinner A Night to Remember on 30 May 2015 with a line-up of top chefs cooking up a storm.
Executive Chef Ikuei Arakane is one of the five chef's cooking at the fundraising dinner.
A Night To Remember will bring together 330 guests and feature five courses with matching wine, with each chef responsible for one course. The night promises to be a unique culinary experience and a celebration of Melbourne’s reputation as the culinary capital of Australia.
Chefs cooking on the night include Chef De Cuisine Jeffrey Tan (IPF Culinary Consultancy Services), Executive Chef Mark Normoyle (RACV City Club) and Executive Pastry Chef Pierrick Boyer (Le Petit Gateau) who have supported the event since it began in 2012.
This year they are joined by Executive Chef Ikuei Arakane, head chef at The Glass House in Hobart and Crystal Jones, currently Chef De Cuisine at RACV City Club in Melbourne.
The event will help Alzheimer’s Australia Victoria raise vital funds to deliver essential programs and services for people with dementia, their carers and families, many of whom come to the organisation in crisis.
Alzheimer’s Australia Vic CEO Maree McCabe said about the group of chefs “They’re all so generous with their time as well as their connections who support the event by supplying all of the ingredients. Seeing them collaborate and work so hard to support people impacted by dementia is inspiring.”
Singer Darren Percival, star of the 2012 season of The Voice, will entertain guests and Emmy award-winning foreign correspondent, author and commentator Sara James will MC the event.
The event will feature auctions of a wide variety of goods including several exclusive holiday packages and money-can’t-buy experiences. Funds raised at A Night To Remember will help Alzheimer’s Australia Vic raise vital funds to deliver essential programs and services for people with dementia, their carers and families, many of whom come to the organisation in crisis.
