Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Delirium in Older People

The project to develop Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Delirium in Older People has produced three evidence based documents, which are intended to be used in conjunction with each other:

· Quick reference guide for the delirium guidelines
· Clinical practice guidelines for the management of delirium in older people
· Consumer brochure for people with delirium, their families and carers

These guidelines were developed to provide a series of recommendations to guide clinical assessment and management of delirium in older Australians in hospital and across health care settings, specifically to the acute-aged care interface, residential care and community based aged care.

The target population is older people receiving care aged 65 years or older, or in the case of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) people, 45 years or older.
