More than 310,000 South Australian seniors will soon use just one card for discounts on goods and services, as well as on public transport.

Acting Minister for Transport Services, Patrick Conlon, said the new smartcard technology meant Seniors Card holders would no longer have to buy magnetic concession tickets to travel during peak periods.

Older South Australians will now be able to load their cards with credit at Metrocard agents, ticket vending machines or on board trains or trams, then swipe the card when they board a bus, train or tram, when the fare will be deducted.

Seniors Card holders who haven’t received their new Seniors Card by mid-December should contact the Seniors Card Unit on freecall 1800 819 961.

For more information, visit the website or call the Adelaide Metro info line 1300 311 108.
