Centrelink advice for flood victims

Due to increased demand as a result of the Queensland floods, there may be delays with some services. Centrelink has apologised for any inconvenience. If you are due to report your income, activity test or participation details via Online Services or phone, Centrelink has extended the time you need to report by to 9pm AEDST until 21 January 2011.

Flooding and severe weather – Assistance for flooding and severe weather is now available (see below). To claim, call Centrelink on 180 22 66. To claim online, you will need to be registered for Online Services: http://www.centrelink.gov.au/internet/internet.nsf/online_services/index.htm

The Australian Government has authorised certain payments and services for people affected by recent severe weather/flooding events in QLD, NSW, VIC, SA and WA.

Due to flooding, the following Customer Service Centres in Queensland are closed on Thursday 13 January 2011: Browns Plains, Caboolture, Capalaba, Chermside, Cleveland, Fortitude Valley, Goodna, Inala, Ipswich, Kippa-Ring, Mitchelton,Nundah,South Brisbane,Stones Corner, Strathpine, Warwick, Woodridge.
