Centenarian steals show at Toowoomba wedding

In a simple but gorgeous pale green gown, aged care nurse, Kay Jack, followed her 100-year-old bridesmaid, Laurie Yates, down the aisle at Toowoomba’s TriCare aged care facility in early November.
In easily the most exciting moment the home has hosted in a long time, the popular nurse married Peter Mackenzie in a beautiful service.
Fellow nurse, Kay Ball, served as bridesmaid along with 100-year-old Laurie Yates.
And just to make it a complete in-house affair, another nurse made the wedding cake.
“I had actually already asked Laurie if she would be my bridesmaid because I’ve always had a soft spot for her,” the brand new Mrs Mackenzie said.
