The Brain Sciences Institute at Swinburne University of Technology in Victoria is currently investigating the effects of various coffee beverages on mood, memory and cardiovascular function.
It is seeking people who are willing to participate in a four month trial. Those who will be considered for the trial must be:
- aged 60+;
- a light to moderate coffee drinker;
- not taking any psychiatric medications; and
- not suffering from any psychiatric disorders or stomach problems.
Participants will need to refrain from drinking coffee for one month and will then be given a three month supply of a coffee beverage to consume three times a day. There will be five testing sessions over four months lasting 2-3 hours each at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus. Participants will be compensated $250 at the end of the trial.
