Campbelltown Council supports local nursing home upgrade
The Kilbride Nursing Home in NSW is to get an extension and upgrade, with Campbelltown Council’s planning and environment committee’s unanimous vote to approve the development.
The committee told Kennedy Health Care director, Mark Kennedy, that he did not need to speak in favour of the application.
Mr Kennedy’s company manages the nursing home, which was built in 1832 for the local water authority engineer.
The original homestead, which is heritage listed, adjoins part of the modern facility, Mr Kennedy said.
“An extension and renovation will increase capacity to 161 beds from a current capacity of 109,” he said. The upgrade will include 31 low-care beds.
